Erik Haghedooren is a results-driven executive with a passion for innovation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. As Vice President of Sterilization Technologies at Sterigenics, he brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
In his current role, Erik leads Sterigenics’ Expert Advisory Services, overseeing gas, radiation, and emerging sterilization technologies. He works closely with customers to navigate complex regulatory requirements while advancing technical and operational strategies that support safe, effective product commercialization.
Throughout his career at Sterigenics, Erik has held leadership roles across quality and regulatory affairs, research and development, laboratory operations, and sterilization technology. This cross-functional experience provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the full product/service lifecycle—from scientific development and validation through regulatory strategy and commercial implementation.
Previously, Erik served as Senior Director of Gas Sterilization Technology, where he provided global leadership across multi-site operations. He partnered with customers and internal teams to develop validation strategies, advance technology roadmaps, and drive innovation while strengthening regulatory readiness.
Erik’s expertise spans quality systems, regulatory strategy, laboratory operations, and lean manufacturing. A certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, he is committed to building high-performing teams and maintaining robust systems aligned with ISO 13485, ISO 10993, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and EU and FDA GMP/GLP standards.
He is recognized for combining strategic vision with deep technical expertise to accelerate innovation while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
